The AN-24 is a Soviet twin-engine turboprop airliner that was designed by Antonov and manufactured by the Soviet Aviation Industry. The aircraft was intended for use as a medium range airliner, with passenger capacity of up to 40 seats.
The AN-24RV was developed in 1960 and introduced in 1963, with a modified airframe and improved aerodynamic features allowing it to carry up to 50 passengers. The original production model was powered by two Ivchenko AI-20 engines.
